CUTTALOSSA POP-UP

Pagebreak.jpg

For three days in early November 2017, Mess Hall played host to an immersive pop-up at Cuttalossa. A curtain made of fresh vegetables, edible ikebana of dill, pepperberry and broccolini, pastel candles held up by a tower of brussel sprouts—all displayed with our collection of curated vintage tableware, artist collaborations, and custom teas. Cocktails were graciously provided by Quaker City Malting Co. alongside a selection of recipes submitted by our Mess Hall community.

Custom Wet Vessels by the artist/florist  Aviva Rowley dotted the shelves. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and modular, allowing for either an ikebana vase or a serving dish (as in the asparagus below.)

A recipe zine, illustrated by Brooklyn-based artist Jen Byun was provided for guests featuring three party friendly recipes. A warm artichoke spread served with paper thin root vegetables and apple walnut bread, a grandma’s onion dip piped on to blue potatoes and topped with a dollop of masago, and pillowy whoopie pies filled with a matcha fluff.
